The Madison Group

our committee

Halesowen Athletic and Cycling Club is run by a Management Committee, with representatives from the different sections (athletics, cycling, tennis, weights). The Cycling Section also has its own committee to oversee the running and development of the club.

Our committee is elected at our Annual General Meeting in November each year. Any full member may attend the AGM and vote. The committee usually meets at 8:15 in the clubhouse on the first Wednesday of each month. Any full Cycling Section member can attend committee meetings as an observer. If you want to raise a particular issue, please talk to a committee member first.

committee members

Martin Bridgwood

Chairman

I was elected Chairman of the Cycling Section in 2006, having been Secretary since 2001. I am also General Secretary of HACC (the whole club).

I am an International Commissaire and have officiated at many track and road races. I also enjoy organising races and am particularly proud of the Dudley Grand Prix.

.

Angela Gregory

Secretary

Hi my name is Angela Gregory. I became Secretary to the Cycling Section in 2006.

I am qualified as an activity coach and a Level 2 Track coach.

I am also a West Midlands Regional Commissaire.

.

Geoff Dingley

Treasurer

As well as Treasurer, I organise the Track League and Halesowen's Cyclo-cross event.

I compete in Time Trials and Cyclocross, and occasionally ride a track bike. I am a Level 2 coach. I also enjoy leading the club runs, my challenge here being to find new roads to explore and new cafes.

.

Jenny Sargent

Membership Secretary

I enjoy riding bikes, track and road, but not competitively. When I joined HACC in 1996 there were only 6 other members! I joined the committee in 1997 and have been Social Secretary, Section Secretary, Youth Coordinator/ Liaison. I also run the Café at the Friday Night Track League - come and say 'hello'.

.

Sue Booth

Social Secretary

Sue organises a range of social activities during the year, including the club quiz, fish and chip nights and our famous - possibly infamous - Hallowwen Night.

.

Nigel Booth

Coaching

Nigel is a qualified Level 2 Track Coach and has Derny Accreditation. He is our Regional Rep. to British Cycling.

.

Tim Bailey

Clothing and kit

I joined the Cycling section when my children Matt and Nicole started racing 6 years ago and began riding with the youths on the road for extra training to help my running, sadly for me the youths continually get faster. I somehow got involved with the committee and try to help out where I can. I also look after the Club's kit and clothing stock and reorders.

.

Phil Kay

Phil is our Youth Coaching and Liaison Coordinator.

Matt Bailey
Road Team liaison

Arite, my names Matt Bailey and my job on the committee is to make sure the club has input from everyone in the club (not just the OAPs!) anything you're not happy with just let me know! I have rode for Haleowen since the age of 8 and regulary race on both road and track up and down the country. My best result yet was bronze at the National Circuit race champs last season and i hope to better that this year.
