Secretary Sara Crumpton
Treasurer Jo Phillips
Having
my son to thank for opening my eyes to the wonderful (and very
expensive!) world of cycling, I have been part of the club for
the past nine years and can usually see me behind the counter
of the cafe serving teas and cake but took on a more active role
within the club as treasurer in 2010. Married to Ian, who is a
paramedic (very useful! ) and who is one of the two cycling section
Club Welfare Officers and is also a keen cyclist. We have three
other sons, with two in the freewheelers . After sitting on the
side watching for many years decided to buy a road bike and join
in the fun. Try to get out on club rides when I can even tried
Cross for a couple of seasons. You will see HACC is a real family
affair for us and love the family atmosphere the club has.

I am married and live in Halesowen and I have been a
member of the club for 8 years and on the committee for five years.
Both my children Jess and Matt used to cycle at the club as freewheelers
to begin with and then progressed as teenagers, Jess rode for
Great Britain in the Ladies Tour of Holland and as a result of
that is a life member of the club. She has been National Champion
and European Champion twice in the 2K Pursuit discipline. I ride
a bike for fun and have recently got into Mountain Biking which
I also love.I work in the cycle industry too, so I count bicycle
wheels in my sleep you could say.

My
family joined Halesowen cycling in 2009 and we have grown to love
our cycling. My children, Jamieson and Isla regularly train and
compete for the club most weekends as Freewheelers. I have volunteered
to be Freewheeler liason as I understand how difficult it can
be to navigate through the challenges of such a complex but exciting
sport as a beginner and parent. If I can help in any way or you
want to voice anything constructive to the committee then please
drop me a line.

I
have been an enthusiastic cyclist for more than 20 years now having
first really got the bug as a teenager after proudly purchasing
my first mountain bike around age 16. Historically most of my
riding has been on mountain bikes and I have dabbled a bit with
racing; Cross Country MTB, Downhill and Endurance events. Around
summer 2009 I made the switch over to skinny tyres after purchasing
a road bike with the aim of a faster commute! I joined HACC at
the start of 2011 having first got involved with the club through
my daughter and the Freewheelers section during summer 2010 .
In my rookie year on the track I somehow managed to bag the win
in the B Category FNTL much to my own surprise, so I’m really
looking forward to another exciting year on two wheels of all
varieties for 2012.
