you gotta be in it to win it!

Although many of our members choose only to cycle recreationally, at heart we are a racing club with a very fine record of achievement,

Individual club members participate in a variety of cycling disciplines, and as a club our main focus is on track, road and cyclo-cross racing.

We have some very talented members - have a look at our champions page to meet some of our more famous talents.

track
As proprietors of the only members-owned racing track in the country, track racing naturally lies at the very heart of the club.

Our strong track coaching programme supports members to train for the three main tournaments of our track season: the Friday Night Track League (FNTL); the International Dudley Grand Prix; and the Club Championships.

cyclo-cross
As the nights draw in and the track season draws to a close, our thoughts turn to cyclo-cross. Essentially, this is off-road riding, usually on a fast, predominantly wide circuit, using bikes similar to a normal road bike.

Halesowen are very active in the West Midlands Cyclo-cross League and organise a round at Bromsgrove. In 2009, we won the under-8s, the under-12s (taking the first five places), and the Youth category. We were also second in the Ladies category.

We have won the team prize in the league in 2007, 2008, and 2009, finishing a close second in 2010.

road/circuit racing
Now in it's second year, our Men's Road Team is proving itself as a force to be reckoned with in the Midlands and beyond. This year, we have a new Women's team which is already showing a strong presence.

Halesowen are founder members of Cycling Development West Midlands (CDWM), an ability-based youth coached racing programme.

mountain biking
Also new this year is a mountain-bike racing programme, with some of our members making a real impact nationally.

time-trialling
With our trackie tendencies, road time trialling is a specific discipline not presently pursued by many in the club. However we are affiliated to Cycling Time Trials, the national body that regulates the discipline. If the 'race of truth' interests you and you want to train for it, our coaches will be able to help you.
