CYCLING COMMUNITY SESSIONS

Winter Cycling Sessions - 1 January 2023 - mid March

  

Sessions will commence in early spring - late March/early April depending on the weather conditions. 

 

Sessions are subject to availability and prevailing weather/ track conditions.   Please check our twitter feed/website for updates each week should the sessions be cancelled due to poor weather conditions. 

All upcoming sessions are listed in the calendar at the bottom of the page  (it’s easier to view on desktop than mobile).

COMMUNITY SESSIONS 

These are designed for beginner riders and under 16s.  You are able to attend these sessions without having to purchase a membership and are on a pay per session basis.  This option does not give you HACC membership and only permits use of the track during Community sessions and use of the social club.  This is ideal for those wanting to learn basic group/road skills or fixed wheel track bike basic skills through to accreditation.  

ROAD BIKE FOR BEGINNERS

Mondays – 7pm

Learn basic group/road skills on our track

Own road bikes are required for this session

TRACK BIKE FOR BEGINNERS

Wednesdays - 7pm

Come and experience fixed wheel track cycling.   Our sessions are designed to teach you all of the basic skills through to accreditation to enable you to race in our track league should you wish

Beginners for all (ages 9+)

Pay per session - £5.00

Includes track bike hire

WOMEN ONLY  ROAD BIKE

Thursdays - 7pm

Our womens' only session is designed for you to ride in a
relaxed environment whilst learning new skills

Available for women of all ages

Group/road skills training

Pay per session - £5.00

(Track Members FOC)

Own road bikes are required for this session

SQT TRACK SESSIONS 

Saturdays - 3.30pm

These are structured sessions for riders who race at our track league - open to our track members as well as other local clubs

LOCAL CLUB SESSIONS

Saturdays - 3.30pm 

Local clubs can pre-book a date for their club members to experience and learn fixed wheel track cycling and of course have some fun

Pay per booking: £5 per person (includes bike hire)

Helmet and Gloves are mandatory for each session 

No visible cycle computers allowed. Cycling gloves and two layers (top half of body) and helmet (CE Certified) are compulsory. Please wear leggings and arm warmers if temperature is forecast below 14C.
 
Please do not be late for sessions as it is imperative that you join the warm up. You may be asked to warm up on rollers if you are late/not be able to participate.

Coaches may refuse track entrance if bikes are deemed unsafe.

General Age restrictions are for guidance and are at the discretion of the coach based upon ability. If in any doubt then please check with the coach beforehand to avoid disappointment. 

Finally - Please remember that all coaches are volunteers.

Fixed Wheel Novice  -  for those who have never ridden fixed wheel bikes - required to attend various structured accreditation sessions to progress through to Intermediate training
Fixed Wheel Intermediate - for those who have attended multiple novice sessions/intermediate who wish to race/currently race at track league/events 
Fixed Wheel Advanced - age 14 +- for experienced riders who have attended multiple intermediate/advanced sessions who have raced in track league/events
 
Road Novice/Intermediate - age 9 +- for those confident on road bikes who wish to learn further skills and group riding
 
Road Intermediate/Advanced - age 12 +- for those confident on road bikes who wish to learn further skills/group riding/improve endurance
