Halesowen cycling section AGM Monday 26th February 2018
Last season was again very busy for our section with numerous events put on for the benefit of our members and a big thank you must go to all our volunteers who made it all possible.
For me the scene was set when we had such a great turn-out for the track sweep in March that was a very rewarding day.
Events included: The Chirk Training Weekend. Tom’s Training Week in Spain.
The Youth Omnium. Great thanks to Andy who is handing over to new organisers this year, Richard & Paul, mentored by Andy.
The Charlie Craig Fund Raising 100 laps, what great job Mike did. 18 FNTL nights were scheduled, thanks to all the helpers.
The Halesowen RR had a future star, local rider Ben Healey as a great winner.
The Dudley GP was very well supported as going very well - until the last race!
Paul did another great job with the Halesowen 100 raising money for the Clubhouse Fund, thank you Paul.
The cyclo cross at Baggeridge was a huge success thanks to John and his team. John is handing over to Matt for this year’s event.
Everyone had a great time at the Celebration Night thanks to the brilliant team of organisers.
Our riders performed with many great results on the track, circuits road and off road.
Other success s included getting the trees cut back, a new motor bike for pacing and having school children from the Dudley Invictus Trust for track coaching on two occasions - all things which take time and effort. I would like to see more school children being given the opportunity to be coached on the track as part of their education.
This year we are inviting other local clubs to take part in a club championships event.
On Serious Note the committee would like to remind all members that we expect our riders to ride safely and bring credit to our Club when riding on the roads. Good manners by all Road users make the roads safer. Please Remember we all have a duty of care to club-mates and others.
Thank you to all the Committee Members and all the other Club Members who have helped in any way.
Good Luck to all our riders for this new season. DV.
