Many congratulations to Kinga Ingram (8th O/A and her team mates ~ Grace Lister (WWCC) Lucy Hart ( Mid Shropshire Wheelers and Josie Nelson (Lichfield CC) who represented the West Midlands in the Youth Tour of Scotland finishing 2nd Team O/A out of 20 U.K. teams.
Kinga was invited to be one of four cyclists to represent the West Midlands U16 girls Team in the Youth Tour of Scotland last weekend.
The Tour consisted of 20 regional teams (80 riders) from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Belgium. The competition consisted of two closed road races of 1 hour over hilly terrain, a team time trial and a circuit race.
The West Midlands Team consisted of Kinga Ingram (HACC), Grace Lister (Wolverhampton Wheelers), Lucy Hart (Mid Shrops) & Josie Nelson (Lichfield). The Team Manager Ian Lister who did an outstanding job looking after the Team over the three day's.
On the first road race Kinga finished 6th over a hilly course fighting back from the second group to the first group of riders.
Following the TT and the second road race at the end of day two the WM team were laying third behind the Team of Wales and the East Midland Team.
The WM had to make up 2 minuets to beat the Welsh team. After an exciting final race on day 3 the WM girls fought hard and had three girls in the lead bunch finishing only 38 seconds behind Team Wales to finish second overall.
Kinga of HACC finished a creditable 8th in the general classification.
